Sunsets in Uruguay are unforgettable. An iranian friend has told me once that sunsets over here are as beautiful as in Africa. I've never been in Africa but I trust on her opinion as an experienced traveler. Uruguayans have a nice tradition. In some beaches of the atlantic coast it is common to give tribute to the sunset by clapping hands.

Spring and summer season are the best ones to appreciate the amazing sunsets happening on this tiny spot of the southamerican continent. I particularly recommend Punta Colorada, Cabo Polonio and Solis as some of the best places to enjoy this natural spectacle. The Montevideo bay is also special.

You should seriously consider adding this to your "must-see" traveling list when around Uruguay.

Anyways, where have you seen the best sunsets of your life? Share with us on the comments below..Thanks! :)

Colonia del Sacramento: Sunset + Hot chocolate by the river

When you go to Colonia del Sacramento you need to get inside of as many houses, shops, restaurants, galleries as you can. There you will discover the real charm of this tiny city, things that will make you feel in a place unique at every corner, every house available for tourists to enter. At 5.30pm, after walking around all day long, we decided to make a stop in one particular house that really caught our attention. That place was an art gallery with photo and paintings expositions. The main room is a place where clients can read books, listen classical music and order delicious sandwiches, hot chocolate, coffee or tea.

We decided to leave books aside and enjoy the lovely sunset on the houses' garden by the river and the yachts' port.

The owners even gave us blankets to keep us warm (10 degrees of temperature). That's what I call "A Good Service"!!!
